So far from the research I have been making I have decided that I would like to make a pop punk music video. For my inspiration I have been looking at bands such as 'You, me at six' and 'Paramore' the music videos they create are very energetic and and fun to watch, which is what I would like my video to be.
One particular video made by Paramore featured them breaking the world record for the most amount of world records broken in one music video, although I would not be able to create a music video such as that, I would like mine to be one that people will remember and want to watch again just like the one made by Paramore.
I would like the video to be a performance video as I think that there is just as much you can do with it as you could a narrative. I think that a performance video is a good way to get to know the people in the video better, as it shows the real them and how they perform rather than acting as someone they are not.
I have decided to work with Shane Jackson when making my music video as we both work well together, share a similar music taste and also have chosen the same genre to work with.
So far I have not decided what song to create the music video for. Although choosing a song is easy, it makes it harder when you have to think not just of the song but of how you will use it. You must consider the lyrics, what they mean and how you are going to portray them to the audience, if the music video is about a break up but then you make a video of two people falling in love then the video will confuse the audience, they will not understand and therefore not want to watch it.
So far, the performer I have in mind is Liam Broughton - I know him very well, he is willing to perform as it is what he enjoys doing. I also know that he will put a lot of effort into doing it right and helping us make the music video look genuine. If I find that Liam becomes unavailable then the other alternatives we are;
Connor petch
Chelsea Payne
Alex Reid
Chris Rostron
