Researching Good Charlotte alternative clothing.

Good Charlotte is a very popular Pop Punk group with a very alternative style, most of the clothes they wear during performances are black with dark jeans, as you can see the two front hairstyles are quite outgoing and not something I would like to have in my music video, this is because I believe it gives too much of a 'rock look'. Although something that I would take from this band would be the accessories they use such as bangles and chains, I think that this emphasises the Pop Punk look and would work well in the music video.

Researching costume by You, Me at Six.

This first costume is very casual, from the picture you can see that the singer is wearing a t-shirt, I assume that with this he will be wearing dark jeans. I will definitely consider having a costume such as this, something casual. A costume like this we would use in an indoor location.
The second costume is again very casual. The singer can be seen wearing a t-shirt with a casual black waistcoat and black jeans. This is one of my favourite costumes as it does not stand out massively or make the singer look different to anyone else. This costume allows him to wear something comfortable that makes him look equal to his fans.
This last costume, I personally find a mixture between casual and formal. I think that whoever decided on the costume wanted the singer to look more formal but tried to keep him in his comfort zone.

Overall, as you can see from these screen grabs You, Me at Six have a very similar style in each music video, they wear clothes such as jeans, t-shirts and leather jacket - this is the particular clothing I would expect from a pop punk band (casual). I believe that all the costumes are appropriate for their surroundings.

Researching shot types - Paramore.

This is a Close up shot of Hayley's face. Here Hayley is laid on a floor surrounded by valentines day letters. This is appropriate and I think that the producers chose to do this as it is an extreme way of showing how Hayley is feeling. The main colours in this shot are pink, reds and oranges - these colours were chosen as they represent love. These work well with the theme at this precise point.

This is a Wide shot, featuring the whole band 'Paramore' I like this shot as it shows each member focusing on their own parts, they are in their own element. The dull lighting over the band could represent a certain feeling, it could mean they are relaxed or it could suggest they're nervous. I think that Hayley is in a spotlight, showing that she is the main image.

This is close up of Hayleys face. The expression she is showing suggests that she is nervous, or is worried. The green background contrasts with the pink hair but together I think that it proves Hayley is quite unique and stands out from other people.

Research into locations of music video.

I have first decided to research into locations used by Paramore.

Many of the locations used by paramour are very unique.
The location such as the road is something that would be easy for me to do, I know of areas where there aren't as many cars which would be perfect for filming.
Some other areas of which would be good for filming are; - Millennium Green (Brigg)
                                                                                              - Scawby ponds
                                                                                              - The road leading to Cadney.
                                                                                              - There is a market place named Stenits
and close to there is a small wood.

Updated ideas on creativity and planning.

So far from the research I have been making I have decided that I would like to make a pop punk music video. For my inspiration I have been looking at bands such as 'You, me at six' and 'Paramore' the music videos they create are very energetic and and fun to watch, which is what I would like my video to be.

One particular video made by Paramore featured them breaking the world record for the most amount of world records broken in one music video, although I would not be able to create a music video such as that, I would like mine to be one that people will remember and want to watch again just like the one made by Paramore.

I would like the video to be a performance video as I think that there is just as much you can do with it as you could a narrative. I think that a performance video is a good way to get to know the people in the video better, as it shows the real them and how they perform rather than acting as someone they are not.

I have decided to work with Shane Jackson when making my music video as we both work well together, share a similar music taste and also have chosen the same genre to work with.

So far I have not decided what song to create the music video for. Although choosing a song is easy, it makes it harder when you have to think not just of the song but of how you will use it. You must consider the lyrics, what they mean and how you are going to portray them to the audience, if the music video is about a break up but then you make a video of two people falling in love then the video will confuse the audience, they will not understand and therefore not want to watch it.

So far, the performer I have in mind is Liam Broughton - I know him very well, he is willing to perform as it is what he enjoys doing. I also know that he will put a lot of effort into doing it right and helping us make the music video look genuine. If I find that Liam becomes unavailable then the other alternatives we are;
                               Connor petch
                               Chelsea Payne
                               Alex Reid
                               Chris Rostron

The brief and my response.

The brief;
A promotion package for the release of an album, to include of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two of the following three options:
- A website homepage for the band
- A digipak for the albums release
- A magazine advertisement for the for the digipak

I have chosen to create a digipak for the albums release and a magazine advertisement for the digipak. I have decided to not create a website as I am not skilled enough to do so.

So far I have decided to used pop punk as my genre. I am looking forward to this course as I feel that I have lots of creative ideas that could be used throughout. At the moment I enjoy listening to bands such as Paramore, Fall out boy, Rise against, Good Charlotte and You, me at six.
I feel that I already have a range of people that I could use with this course, people that support my genre.
I am mostly looking forward to taking photographs for this course as I enjoy taking photographs and I have a few locations of which I can consider using, I will also consider filming in these locations.
